With all the same qualities as the Classic satchel size, the XL is available as a pre-order item. It can be ordered in Ebony or in Chocolate leather. It comes with two sets of straps so you can wear it cross-body or as a back pack.

The Tolfa Bag was originally crafted in 1575 for farmers and artisans to carry utensils, it re-emerged as a must have for students in the 70s in Italy.  Still made in Tolfa for Abito in collaboration with a family steeped in the original Tolfa bag tradition.  Ideal for people who love simple, hand-crafted, timeless design — and saddle-like leather that gets better with age.

Made by hand in Tolfa in high quality, natural leather sourced from a tannery near Pisa.

  • The XL Abito x Tolfa Bag is a work bag at 40cm wide x 30cm high x 12cm deep. Comes with both cross-body shoulder straps, and with straps to wear it as a back pack. Both sets of straps are adjustable in length. Brass buckle and stud details. The Tolfa provenance is branded within the natural leather. Unlined, it’s for those who love the scent and feel of “saddle’ natural leather, that ages beautifully with wear over time. High quality Italian leather, sourced specifically from a tannery near Pisa. The leather is treated with tannins from tree bark, and is made with respect for the environment.

  • A large work bag that is 40cm wide x 30cm high x 12cm deep.

  • This is natural leather, vegetable dyed to deep chocolate brown, and to ebony black. The characteristic of the Tolfa bag is that a rich leather sheen develops with wear, creating a unique patina, a ‘worn-in’ look that is particular to natural leather.
